Ridda/ Apostasy:-
Means Apostasy : The renunciation or abandonment of a religious or political belief or principle.
Apostasy in Islam (Arabic: irtidad or ridda) is commonly defined as the rejection of Islam in word or deed by a person who has been a Muslim.
All five major schools of Islamic jurisprudence agree that a sane male apostate must be executed. A female apostate may be put to death, according to some schools, or imprisoned, according to others.
It is clear from the verses of the Quran that "the apostate is threatened with punishment in the next world only" however "in traditions, there is little echo of these punishments in the next world ... and instead, we have in many traditions a new element, the death penalty."
2: 217 They ask thee concerning fighting in the Prohibited Month. Say: "Fighting therein is a grave (offence); but graver is it in the sight of Allah to prevent access to the path of Allah to deny Him to prevent access to the Sacred Mosque and drive out its members. Tumult and oppression are worse than slaughter. Nor will they cease fighting you until they turn you back from your faith if they can. And if any of you turn back from their faith [yartad] and die in unbelief [kafiroo] their works will bear no fruit in this life and in the Hereafter; they will be Companions of the Fire and will abide therein
2:256. "Let there be no compulsion in the religion: Surely the Right Path is clearly distinct from the crooked path."
3:72 "A section of the People of the Book say: "Believe in the morning what is revealed to the believers, but reject it [akfuroo] at the end of the day; perchance they may (themselves) Turn back... "
3:90-91 "But those who reject Faith [kafaroo] after they accepted it, and then go on adding to their defiance of Faith,- never will their repentance be accepted; for they are those who have (of set purpose) gone astray. As to those who reject Faith [kafaroo] , and die rejecting [kuffaroo] ,- never would be accepted from any such as much gold as the earth contains, though they should offer it for ransom. For such is (in store) a penalty grievous, and they will find no helpers."
4:48 "Those who blasphemed and back away from the ways of Allah and die as blasphemers, Allah shall not forgive them."
4: 89 They [the Hypocrites] but wish that ye should reject faith [kafaroo] as they do and thus be on the same footing (as they): but take not friends from their ranks until they flee in the way of Allah (from what is forbidden). But if they turn renegades seize them and slay them [wa-qtuloohum] wherever ye find them; and (in any case) take no friends or helpers from their ranks.
4:137 "Those who believe, then reject faith [kafaroo] , then believe (again) and (again) reject faith [kafaroo], and go on increasing in unbelief,- Allah will not forgive them nor guide them on the way."
9:5 But when the forbidden months are past then fight and slay the pagans wherever ye find them and seize them beleaguer them and lie in wait for them in every stratagem (of war); but if they repent and establish regular prayers and practice regular charity then open the way for them: for Allah is Oft-Forgiving Most Merciful.
16:106-109 "Any one who, after accepting faith in Allah, utters Unbelief [kfara],- except under compulsion, his heart remaining firm in Faith - but such as open their breast to Unbelief, on them is Wrath from Allah, and theirs will be a dreadful Penalty. This because they love the life of this world better than the Hereafter... Without doubt, in the Hereafter they will perish."
Shafi'is interpret verse 2:217 as adducing the main evidence for the death penalty in Qur'an.
*** In all the relevant Quranic verses quoted above, there is no mention of an EARTHLY RETRIBUTION against an APOSTATE but only in the AFTERLIFE.
There is no mention of a DEATH PENALTY either.
The Sharia' follows the SUNNA of Muhammad and NOT the Quran ***

*** Muhammadan Islam is the ONLY 'religious belief system' that mandates the murder of anyone who joins it but later changes one's mind and decides to leave it.
If it were such a gteat and 'peacful religion', why act with such depraved indifference towards the conscience of the individual? ***
Sahih Al-Bukhari HadithHadith 6.298 Narrated byAbu Huraira
Allah's Apostle said, "No child is born except on Al-Fitra (Islam) and then his parents make him Jewish, Christian or Magian, as an animal produces a perfect young animal: do you see any part of its body amputated?" Then he recited:
"The religion of pure Islamic Faith (Hanifa),(i.e. to worship none but Allah), The pure Allah's Islamic nature with which He (Allah) has created mankind. Let There be no change in Allah's religion (i.e. to join none in Allah's worship). That is the straight religion; but most of men know not..." (30.30)
Sunan of Abu-DawoodHadith 4487 Narrated byUthman ibn Affan
AbuUmamah ibn Sahl said: We were with Uthman when he was besieged in the house. There was an entrance to the house. He who entered it heard the speech of those who were in the Bilat. Uthman then entered it. He came out to us, looking pale.
He said: They are threatening to kill me now.
We said: Allah will be sufficient for you against them, Commander of the Faithful!
He asked: Why kill me? I heard the Apostle of Allah (peace be upon him) say:
It is not lawful to kill a man who is a Muslim except for one of the three reasons: Kufr (disbelief) after accepting Islam, fornication after marriage, or wrongfully killing someone, for which he may be killed. I swear by Allah, I have not committed fornication before or after the coming of Islam, nor did I ever want another religion for me instead of my religion since Allah gave guidance to me, nor have I killed anyone. So for what reason do you want to kill me?
*** Most of the Bedouin Arabs who had rallied out of fear to the banner of 'Islam' under Muhammad, changed their mind after his death.
It took almost two years of bloody fighting under the first Khalifa, Abu Bakr and under the generalship of Khalid Ibn al Walid (The Sword of Allah) to subdue, subjugate and force those secessionists and apostates to return them
- once more - to the fold of PEACEFUL 'Islam'; at the point and edge of SWORDS.
Contrary to all the platitudes, disinformation, misinformation, lies and falsifications of the historical records conducted by the followers of Muhammad, his 'Islam' was born by the shedding of a SEA of blood in the Arabian Peninsula, followed by the shedding of an OCEAN of blood of millions of subjugated and plundered peoples on three continents.
Muhammadan Muslim bloodshed by bombs, guns and swords continues to this day not only against 'Unbelievers' but also against other 'Muslims' ***
